Hen-Geul (“Henry”) Yeh is a Principal Advisor for Onset and brings adaptive systems and VAR control experience with analysis and computer simulations from the academic and practical background to the Onset team. Henry has been with the Electrical Engineering department at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) since 1983, as a Professor and Director of Digital Signal Processing Laboratory since 1986.
He was a visiting Professor at California Institute Technology, 1/2011 – 8/2011, worked on the adaptive control of the power flow for distribution circuits with renewables. Henry has served as Conference Chair for the IEEE Green Energy and Systems Conference (IGESC) for six consecutive years since 2010. IGESC is now recognized and co-sponsored by the IEEE Systems Council, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, CLAS, Boeing and US Hybrid. He has overseen IGESC’s growth from a local conference to an international event with more than 200 participants.
His research activities have included smart grids, optimization and adaptive controls, and high impedance fault detection, real-time signal processing, wireless communication algorithms development and implementation. He has more than 90 publications in refereed Journals and Conferences.
Henry holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of California Irvine.
